Express: Is express dead?

Is the express dead? Six months without updates, the last commit in version 5 is 2 years ago. What is going on? How can I help you? Do you have plans to release 5?

No.we even have TC meeting you can view on our web site to understand what is going on. We have many repos and there is work throughout.

Note that we did skip a couple TC meetings due to US holidays and some of us were at the Node.js Interactive conference. I even talked about the state of Express as an opening keynote :)

I spent quite a while googling for the state of express, and express 5.0 before landing on this issue. The video State of the Union: Express from Node.js Interactive in Dec 2016 was exactly what I was looking for - and covers everything in great detail. Thank you!

I know this sort of comment isn't that helpful in everyone's inbox, however I'm hoping it makes this video easier to find because I think it's important for the express community to hear about the new governance and that you're looking for more contributions. I personally was very interested in the router being a separate module & the GitHub project structure.

Mayhaps a link on the website and/or changing the title of this thread to be something more positive would be beneficial? Just a thought 😁

I absolutely agree :) ! I thought there was an issue on the website repository to get them added, but I guess it's just in the discussions repo and talked about on one of the TC meetings. I just make sure to ping in https://github.com/expressjs/discussions/issues/47#issuecomment-274508626 and will make a PR to the website repo soon if no one else does before I get to it :D
