Would it give advice to throw the plugin into the latest software. PZEM has been working very well for me for half a year but I miss some features from the new software.
Greetings.
You mean plugin 171 from the playground?
as I wrote this plugin I can confirm there's a major problem, the libray used (PZEM004T) uses internally the software serial (which conflicts of course with the ESPSoftwareSerial), so plugin needs to be rewritten completely using the ESPsoftwareLibrary functions using the library source as template, updating all serial communication call functiosn, but I really had no time to do it...
Good to know.
And I have one of those sensors, so I can test it too.
Anything special about connecting them?
not really, it's a simple serial communication but I do remember when I looked the library that it was kind of weird, using "ip addresses" to identify the device
Please refresh this plugin.
I did add a changed version of the ESPeasy software serial library.
See the newly added GPS plugin as a reference.
It is now transparent to the plugin whether it is using HW serial or SW serial, so it should be fairly easy to change.
All other plugins using serial in the normal repository also have been updated to use this abstraction layer.
OK, thank you very much. I will test as soon as I return home. Once again, thank.
It is not yet included in the main repository, but I can transfer it to there if it doesn't need to much effort.
Maybe @papperone can give an estimate on the amount of work on this one?
please don't move the version fomr playgournd as I'm already working on it to add it to the main repository (seasonal breaks did not help to speed up as I was out with family :) )
Do you remember in what last program was the PZEM-004t plugin, I uploaded the latest file. Now I can not find running software.
Is it possible to connect the PZEM-004t module?
Greetings.
