Esmvaltool: Single Codacy setup needed

Created on 24 Oct 2017  路  22Comments  路  Source: ESMValGroup/ESMValTool

At the moment the Codacy checks of the code in the ESMValGroup/ESMValTool github repository point alternatingly to:

https://www.codacy.com/app/ESMValGroup/ESMValTool
https://www.codacy.com/app/NLeSC/ESMValTool
https://www.codacy.com/app/mattiarighi/ESMValTool

All with slightly different setups, e.g. my recent pull request #126 first successfully passed the test of the ESMValGroup codacy setup, but later failed on the NLeSC one. I think we should only keep the ESMValGroup one and delete the others, as this is not working.

If you need your own Codacy setup, it is probably better to either make it point to your own fork instead of the main esmvaltool repository or disable github integration in the non-ESMValGroup Codacy setups, as the current situation is confusing.

Niels and Mattia, I've assigned you, as I think you are the owners of the extra setups.

I think @axel-lauer is the owner.

I should probably delete my setup, I think it was created by mistake.

Any clue how this can be removed?

Go to codacy.com, click login, enter credentials and log in, click on ESMValTool project, click on Settings, click on Remove Project, click on Remove.

He Bouwe, yes, I made the NLeSC by mistake. Single click mistake. I also have had contact with the Codacy people and the duplicated setup also seems to be the reason our post-commit-hook is failing, leading to a lot of strange errors. Ironically enough I do not have enough permissions to remove the NLeSC copy of ESMValTool. Will ask an admin.

Removed NLeSC. @mattiarighi is yours gone now aswell? In that case this issue can be closed.

@mattiarighi Your codacy setup is still alive and causing confusion, can you please remove it?

@ValerioLembo @valeriupredoi @tobstac It looks like you have ESMValTool setup in your private Codacy account. Can you please remove those?

Done.

same, it's gonzo

I am happy to do that. Could you please give me a hint what to do where exactly? I guess I did that by accident, but actually have no clue how to use coday anyway.

I could probably just delete my account (as I don't use it anyway). This would not affect working on the esmvaltool, right?

I think you use your gihub account, so that would probably not work

Ok, I removed it... I think...

Thanks

I can't see codacy results anymore now, kinda really bad since I need those results for PR approval and for my crap as well @bouweandela how do I get it back?

Wait for Codacy to realize it needs to update the links to the correct page, Codacy gets confused if there are multiple esmvaltool Codacy accounts and will link a random one, i.e. what this issue is about.

You can always go to the esmvaltool Codacy page yourself, instead of via the link in your pull request:
https://app.codacy.com/project/ESMValGroup/ESMValTool/dashboard

I think Codacy has just unfussed herself, now I can see the messages from the PR pages; I refuse to do more than one click to see that crap :grinning:

@nperezzanon Can you please remove ESMValTool from your private Codacy account?

Dear @bouweandela,
I've close my Codacy account as I don't think I need for now.
Could you check if this is ok for you?
Thanks!

Thanks
