My 2c: AndroidX is prod-ready, so I would't actually go RC on this next 3.0.0 release. I've been using the RC-01 for a while and has proven to be stable, so I would just go ahead and migrate the whole project to use AndroidX.

Really hanging out for a 3.0 release as well. There are some fixes I need from 2.17 that are missing from the current RC.
