Title: envoyproxy/envoy:latest tag gone from docker hub
Description:
The envoyproxy/envoy:latest tag seems to be gone from the docker hub repository
$ docker pull envoyproxy/envoy:latest
Error response from daemon: manifest for envoyproxy/envoy:latest not found
@stanley-cheung This is probably related to the recent changes announced at https://groups.google.com/d/msg/envoy-users/9OZ3-lu0TSk/wc9jQc2zAQAJ.
@mattklein123 I presume the missing :latest tag is a short term blip? If not we'll need quite a few doco changes.
Seeing the same issue.
Current work around is to use the latest tag: 36f39c746eb7d03b762099b206403935b11972d8
Sorry about this. I will manually add a latest tag which points to 1.9.0. If you actually want the most recent latest, please switch to envoy-dev per the docs. Will report back when fixed.
Fixed
mklein@localhost:~$ docker images
REPOSITORY TAG IMAGE ID CREATED SIZE
envoyproxy/envoy latest b02c1418b106 3 months ago 164MB
envoyproxy/envoy v1.9.0 b02c1418b106 3 months ago 164MB
Please switch to the envoy-dev repo if you actually want master builds. Thank you!
@mattklein123 , I'm facing a similar issue,
$ docker pull envoyproxy/envoy:latest
Error response from daemon: manifest for envoyproxy/envoy:latest not found: manifest unknown: manifest unknown
Using the exact version works though, i.e, docker pull envoyproxy/envoy:v1.14.1
I'm seeing the same thing as @CaptainDaVinci will set to hard version for now
The docs were just updated in https://github.com/envoyproxy/envoy/pull/10800/files to clarify that :latest tag images will not be provided.
