Element-web: Videos not playing in safari on mac

When I click on the play icon in the video tutorials, the video opens then crashes in under 1 second.

Yes, same browser (safari) except this was using macOS, not Windows.

Safari isn't a supported browser for Riot anymore, and I have bad news if a browser can't play mp4 videos. Closing as wontfix for these reasons. If the issue persists in another browser, we can reconsider if mp4 is really the right option.

Safari is breaking because it's confused about the content security policy. We could host these videos elsewhere although this probably also means videos in messages will be broken on safari.

Safari is currently considered supported. It does have some issues, such as this one here.

@dbkr - can you add any more detail? Do you know where we'd start looking for a fix, for this specifically and for videos in Safari generally - I did try playing a random video out of Riot in safari and got this:
