Element-android: Send/Recieve SMS & Phone Calls Messages From Other Devices
I think a cool feature that Element could add is to allow Element Android to also be a SMS and phone app for your phone and sync the SMS messages to your Element account. And to be able to send and receive SMS messages from other devices and to be able to answer and make phone calls from other devices.

The SMS feature seems to be a duplicate of https://github.com/vector-im/element-android/issues/1480 and maybe https://github.com/vector-im/element-android/issues/598 (don't know why there are two open issues about mainly the same thing). There's also an app linked that apparently should do the trick for SMS.
I also think that SMS and phone calls should both be out of scope for this project (it is a chat client), but this is obviously up to the developers.
