According to the docs icons for Linux can be generated, but it's not clear how.
For instance I was setting the icon like this for linux:
"icon": "resources/icon/icon.png",
Now it seems that electron-builder will look for the "icon.png" file itself, so I should have rather used:
"icon": "resources/icon",
This is somewhat weird and I can see it leading to bugs for other people also.
If a .icns or .png file is set explicitly, than that one should be used for generating the icon.
