Why is the H1 tag not used in news or user pages ?

I'm curious why you'd want to use it? Improper use of the H! tag can really break the search friendliness of your site. H1 tags should only be used to declare site/page name and nothing more.

If you really need the H1 tag in news, you can always make a custom news template with the H1 tag in the theme you're using....
