Devise: undefined method `serialize_from_session'

My devise setup is fine and everything works fine, But when i edit any ruby file in project and refresh the page I get this error:

It does not matter what controller called each call will produce this error.

Can you please provide a sample application that reproduces the error?

hmmm sorry no, because I think this error is heavily based on my current environment and using a sample application is not suitable, but I can give you access to this application source code

@lxsameer that's exactly the point though. We have limited time and the more the community can help us with reproducing and isolating bugs, the more likely we will have time to investigate the bug and find out what is wrong.

Hmm Looks like you've not added devise :database_authenticatable, ... in your model :) can you confirm?

Old question, but I just ran into this myself - the problem was due to a semantic error in my User model. In my case, I had a "touch: true" added to a has_many (which isn't allowed). It doesn't raise an error, but it renders the User model basically useless. When devise tries to call a class method on the User model, it fails, as would any other call on the User model due to the error. It's just that devise is the first to call anything.

Check your latest changes for some kind of error -- it's probably not related to devise.
