Core: Searching within discussions

Currently when you search, Flarum shows a couple of relevant posts in the discussion list. But that's the extent of intra-discussion searching you can do.

What needs to be done:

• Spec out a UX for this. Ideas:
  
  
  
  • When viewing a discussion, typing in the search box could list the relevant posts in the dropdown?
  
  
  • We could highlight the matching posts in the scrubber scrollbar?
  
  
  • Or we could filter the posts so that the non-matching ones are hidden? (like esoTalk)

This issue has been automatically marked as stale because it has not had recent activity. It will be closed if no further activity occurs. We do this to keep the amount of open issues to a manageable minimum.

Old issue, but it's a very useful function for a forum.

Flarum by design encourages to long long discussions.
Search engine works kind of OK to find correct topic, but then when you open it with thousands of posts, for example:
https://discuss.flarum.org/d/187-word-association-game/6000

It's really difficult to find correct one.

Can we add search mechanism to discussions?
