Core: Mobile App device battery and Wifi sensors are badly named

Created on 17 Feb 2020  路  6Comments  路  Source: home-assistant/core

The problem

The mobile app adds up to 3 entities per device, a device tracker, and a battery level and WiFi connection sensor

The issue that I have is that the battery and Wifi Sensors are literally called:
sensor.battery_level
sensor.wifi_connection
while the device tracker is called:
device_tracker.oneplus_a3003

oneplus_a3003 is my phone's name... I think that the other two sensors should have the phone's name pre-pended to them so that they are more clear as to what they are.

Environment

  • Home Assistant release with the issue: 0.105.4
  • Last working Home Assistant release (if known):
  • Operating environment (Hass.io/Docker/Windows/etc.): Docker
  • Integration causing this issue: Home Assistant Mobile App Support

... Also before someone points this out ... yes I know they can be renamed ... but I just think it would be nicer if they were named better in the first place

indeed... you're right

and what if the mobile app is installed on two devices

@reaper7 It will be sensor.battery_level_2

I think it is a feature request so I don鈥檛 know if it should keep it here.

Hey there @robbiet480, mind taking a look at this issue as its been labeled with a integration (mobile_app) you are listed as a codeowner for? Thanks!
