Issue #24338 closed, but the problem did not solved yet.
@Danielhiversen made some fix for it, but it is not included in any of the new releases.

0.96.3 b0rken on debian/buster.
no proper debug message, reinstalling wheel/cryptography did not change it.
haven't had time to debug further, sorry for this quick comment

I confirm that the newly installed Raspbian Buster and HA 0.96.3, but problem has been preserved (logs is empty, but the switches in the status are "unavailable").

@Danielhiversen if you can guide me a bit maybe I can add some additional _LOGGER.debug calls here and there, so I can gather more information for you.

Which methods or functions should be reached when working properly? In which order? With which parameters?

I have no experience with Python nor with Home Assistant components but if you can tell me where to look at maybe we can find the problem.
