Could you post the relevant output from the log?
0.96.3 b0rken on debian/buster.
no proper debug message, reinstalling wheel/cryptography did not change it.
haven't had time to debug further, sorry for this quick comment
I confirm that the newly installed Raspbian Buster and HA 0.96.3, but problem has been preserved (logs is empty, but the switches in the status are "unavailable").
Sorry @Danielhiversen, nothing in log, and MP1 switch is unavailable.
As a workaround, this method worked.
Ok, without any log messages, it is nothing I can do. Sorry.
@Danielhiversen if you can guide me a bit maybe I can add some additional _LOGGER.debug calls here and there, so I can gather more information for you.
Which methods or functions should be reached when working properly? In which order? With which parameters?
I have no experience with Python nor with Home Assistant components but if you can tell me where to look at maybe we can find the problem.
@Danielhiversen this fix work fine on ver 96.5: https://github.com/af950833/Home-Assistant-Broadlink-MP1-Custom-Component/tree/master/custom_components/broadlink_mp1
If you can just integrate it, it will be wonderful.
Or you can do it :)
I don't have any idea how to do it. I work fine as custom component.
I have fixed an error.
Please check fix #25806
