Core: Change frontend color scheme via configuration.yaml

This is 100% a wishlist item, so don't feel bad about saying no :).

I was wondering if it might be possible to have a configuration setting for the frontend color scheme? I don't dislike the current color scheme, but I do dislike that when I'm in a dark room (aka, I just woke up and the sun isn't up yet) that the HA screen has so much white. Doubly so since we already have a sun tracker, so if we could expose the color scheme into the configuration file it'd, in theory, be pretty simple to write some automation to handle color.

This issue comes up from time to time in the chat too. It is not going to be implemented.

Adding colors will add a lot of extra development effort on every extra feature that is being developed for the frontend, because now it has to look good in whatever combination the user can pick. That's just not worth the cost.

Just chiming in to agree that the white and light blue at night is very jarring. I hope this gets looked at eventually.

That's a fair sentiment, what if we just limited it to a single "Night Time" mode?

Sorry to dredge up a closed issue, but a night time mode would be very handy. Full themeability probably isn't worth the effort I agree, but I'd like to have HA on an old tablet in my living room as a sort of central information panel and the white/blue interface (while quite pretty) is way too bright in the dark. I imagine I'm not the only one wanting to do this.

I'd suggest something like the colorscheme Grafana uses, but anything on a black or otherwise dark background works for me. I'd also love to help where I can, but frontend design really isn't my forte.

@balloob Can you at least agree that a single night/dark mode would be very useful? We can't be the only ones who are using this on our tablets at night to check the status of things or in a dark room when watching a movie.

I agree with this request, I open HA on my iphone when we're going to sleep to see if everything has run and a darker theme would be nicer to view then

I completely agree. A simple night-mode esque theme would be great. Based on a user-set schedule in configuration.yaml or with a button on the front-end. Loving HA so far. Keep up the good work.
