Contacts: Contact list empty after upgrade to v.2.0.0

After upgrade to v.2.0.0 my contact list is empty. I can recover the issue by rolling back to the previous version of the app.

v.2.0.0 does not load the list of contacts (just a spinning wheel is shown instead) and also the contact groups are not displayed.

Actually the contacts are still available to the NC system, for example I can see them within the file sharing dialog.

I had similar issue, seemed like browser cache issue - Ctrl + F5 on keyboard did the trick...

As proposed please try clearing the cache of your browser (and/or try the private mode of your browser).
If the problem persists - we are in need of the browser log (esp. the javascript console log) when the app gets opened to investigate further.

Cache was a good hint. That fixed the issue I had in FF. Subsequently I also tried Chrome, that works well - and IE, that still does not work. I tried IE11 on multiple Win7 and Win10 machines, none of them is working. Clearing the cache / in-private mode does not change anything.

Maybe this is a general IE11 issue. I am not familiar with how to taking javascript console log (if you have a guide I'll look at it).

@steve-s-71 We only test our releases for Chrome and Firefox - it is possible that IE isn't working but some of us don't even have a windows system running at all. PRs with fixes for IE are very welcomed but me for my case can't test them, let alone implement them.

@irgendwie definitely IE is not my preferred browser too.

But the crowd is less tech affine than we are, thus many are not using Linux/FF/Chrome. If an app/website is incompatible with IE or Edge, majority of PC end-users are cut away.

Considering that, I personally don’t think it is the best idea to test the app only against FF and Chrome. Of course the decision is up to you.

Microsoft provides free Windows virtual machines. This makes it easy for Linux users to test Edge and versions of IE8 through IE11 e.g. with Virtualbox: https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/tools/vms/

Alternatively, there are free VMs just with the latest (eval) versions of Windows 10: https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/downloads/virtual-machines
