It would be great if the background image display would support alpha channels and have the background colour show through instead. I have an image that I need to alter the colour of whenever I change theme. Having alpha support would eliminate the need to do so.

So I have an image with a black background. I can remove the background in paint.net (or similar), which gets saved as the alpha channel (i.e. it's now transparent).
I'd like it if the background colour of my console could get shown through the transparent bits of the image. For example, I currently have the image looking like this:

When I would like it to look like this:
