Community-edition: Rambox filling up ".config/Rambox/Partitions"

Created on 14 Jul 2020  路  2Comments  路  Source: ramboxapp/community-edition

Steps to reproduce

  1. Run "ncdu" or "du" or any other tool to measure disk usage of "".config/Rambox/Partitions" in /home user directory
  2. Observe results using "du"
du -h --max-depth=1 ~/.config/Rambox/ | sort -rh
5.9G /home/username/.config/Rambox/Partitions
5.9G /home/username/.config/Rambox/
  1. Breakdown of usage by "ncdu"
--- /home/username/.config/Rambox/Partitions ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                         /..

  116.7 MiB [## ] /Cache
    6.3 MiB [ ] /IndexedDB

".config/Rambox/Partitions/slack_9/Service Worker/CacheStorage" hits crazy amounts of caching. The only workaround I'm aware of is to delete all contents of CacheStorage but less than a week later it's filling up again.

Expected/Actual behavior

I have been using Rambox for more than 3 years (currently in 0.7.5) and I never had any similar issues. Suddenly all partition usage has gone crazy and is depleting space in /home directory. I have not changed anything from my part, nor do I use these messaging services in a different manner. They've been there for years now.

Is there a way to at least redirect these caches to a different disk partition rather than /home?

ENVIRONMENT

Rambox: v0.7.5

OS: Ubuntu 18.04

Arch: x64
