I just wondering why hackmd doesn't implement such feature that convenient to link a note to other hackmd note like what hackpad did.Even Though hackmd is inspired by hackpad .It will be awesome if I can use hackmd to construct something like wiki knowledge management dose.Or I just misunderstanding the best way to use hackmd?
The literal "why" is easy to explain: Because no one wrote/contributed it right now.
The more detailed answer is: I currently try to organize the repository right now a bit and my main work right now is reviewing, testing, merging contributions as well as checking for bugs.
The HackMD Team is working on HackMD EE right now so depending on the need of having it for private or for business use, there is for sure a way to build that into HackMD EE. Details go here.
For HackMD CE we mainly rely on Community contributors. There are various ways to get involved and help. We currently search some more contributors and want to build a community that works on HackMD. A good place to start is maybe the Gitter chat.
Apart from all this, I'm currently not sure how the feature works exactly, maybe you can explain a bit more detailed, since I never used HackPad and many other people didn't do either. With some more detailed information maybe someone else or I at some day, can start implementing it 馃槃
I would love to see your contributions 馃憤
something looks like it.(image from https://www.wikiwand.com/en/Dragon)

I try to explain the concept, what hackpad did is:
Here is a document "A" and another document "B"
In document "A",I can reference anther document.
When I typing some like @B in the document "A" a tiny pop window ask if you want to reference to document B
If you chose yes,the document "B" url or reference code will auto insert into place.
And for those internal post, the view can show a mark in front of the link to mark it as internal link,or automate set the link's text as document's title(will update when the target document't title changed).
And how it find the target document because hackpad grouped the document accroding to "workplace".
So it won't confused with other workplace's document.
this is loosely related to #383 (the other ticket is about newly created documents by proposes a very similar UI)
wow, this really likely the same concept,I forgot to say that Hackpad can also create new document via tiny popup windows.
(And actually I hope to help but now I'm a student so no much time.Maybe if nobody implement this feature in the future I can take a try. :)
This combined with #383 would be an extremely powerful feature! E.g.: It contains features like folders and tags as special cases: A folder is equivalent document with a bunch of links to notebooks and the function to add more notebooks. Tags are basically the same except that no strict hierarchical structure is enforced.
I totally agree with @rmst ! That would be an awesome feature.
Thanks!
I made a mini chrome extension that does this (until it gets implemented properly by hackmd):

I just saw that this has been implemented by hackmd :) This issue should be closed!
Nope, this issue should stay open. This is not HackMD.io or HackMD EE (which recently introduced this feature), so in this repo, and all HackMD CE this feature does not exist. Which means this issue is not solved and should stay open.
Oh, okay! I'm sorry for the confusion.
Really a feature I would love to see some day in CodiMD. This plus the preview of existing tags to select.
I updated my chrome extension to support arbitrary websites (e.g. self hosted CodiMD instances)

so HackMD.io has this feature already (link from one Note to another Note)? I couldn't find any documentation for it. Sorry, I am not familiar with the EE/CE distinction.
