Same problem. My account is https://twitter.com/tiredmir
I got the proof mail but the application refuses to believe so...
EDIT: It was a connectivity problem for me. The app couldn't reach twitter... Now it's fixed.

My Twitter is protected, but I'd still like to use it as proof. Can't I accept a follower request from a keybase account or install a twitter app to do this?

my tweets are not protected and yet the desktop app still says it is unreachable. browser web app could reach it though.
