There should be an option to change double click behaviour to open local sync folder instead of opening settings.

Still, option to choose that it would open my only local sync folder via double click would be huge life improvement.

Remember that there can easily be multiple local sync folders, either because of one account with different sync folder connects and also multi account.

What will we do if there are more than one local sync folders?

Possibility to choose what double clicking will do:

  • Open certain local sync folder
  • Show list of available local sync folders
  • Open settings window

Well, that is almost exactly what the left click tray menu gives you.

Still, option to choose that it would open my only local sync folder via double click would be huge life improvement.

I would very much like to have this feature as well. Here's an initial attempt at spec'ing out how the feature could work:

  • A double click on the system tray icon opens the "default" sync folder if set.
  • The first folder added becomes the default sync folder.
  • If there is no default sync folder set, then the settings dialog is opened.

    • If the default sync folder is removed, then there is no default sync folder and double clicking opens the settings dialog.

  • Add an option to the ellipsis in the settings for each folder in the UI: "Open When Tray Icon is Double Clicked" when this option is checked, the folder is the "default" sync folder.

This is Dropbox behavior, that my coworkers and I use everyday at work without thinking. When using Owncloud at home, I find the necessary two separate clicks (and necessary time for pointing on local folder entry in the menu) cringeworthy to say the least. Had to create a shortcut just above the tray icon, which is very useful but quite dumb...

(need to check if Dropbox does this on all OS Linux/macOS/Windows)
