Clementine: spotify playlists and account don't appears

Expected behaviour / actual behaviour

The spotify's account should appears with saved playlists / only the internet research works but we can't find playlist

I have this issue as well. It has to do with certain playlists on Spotify causing problems for clementine, commonly the Discover Weekly Playlist and Release Radar playlists, if you're following them. A temporary (albeit annoying) solution is to run clementine from terminal, and watch for "DEBUG SpotifyClient:432" lines.

If you go onto an actual Spotify client, the playlist listed after "Some_Playlist_Name" is problematic, so try closing Clementine, unfollowing that playlist, reopening clementine, and clicking Spotify in the Internet section and all the other playlists should be there (that is unless there's another bug-causing playlist somewhere on your account).

I have the same problem, also on Ubuntu 16.04 using the latest build: clementine_1.3.1-334-gf8f6fef~xenial_amd64.deb . Output looks like this:

With more of the ChannelError and "Got playlist 0 false 0" and "Playlist is not loaded..." messages over and over.

I have the same problem.
It's probably libspotify which stopped working.
It's deprecated (but has no alternative yet) and I notice it gets broken from time to time. Hope it will start working again soon. Unfortunately we can't do much on our side :(

Thank for your tips. I notice that the bug disappears when I unsubscribe from playlists, only keep mine !

Does that mean I'm supposed to unfollow those 28 playlists so I can see the rest on Clementine? Some of them are mine, so I don't think it's something with subscribed playlists.

I unsubscribe from others playlist, not mine, and it work's !
I get a new bug, playlists were wrong (the wrong titles) and spotify didn't work too. I solved it in erasing "/home/user/.config/Clementine/spotify* " and reinstalling clementine

It's weird because I unsuscribe from SOME of others playlists and it worked, but I still have some so I don't know why this happens.

I managed to fix this on my system after a bit. Also, to be completely honest, I don't know what exactly it was that fixed it. I'm using Arch Linux so your mileage may vary with this solution. To begin, I thought it odd that I was still getting outputs of "Playlist is not loaded yet, waiting..." even though that specific string is nowhere to be found within SpotifyClient.cpp (especially since it was fixed 6 months ago with commit 3485bbe) so I was seriously confused why even when building a clean install of Clementine from source I was still hitting the bug. I double checked the dependency list and noticed libspotify. I ran "pacaur -S libspotify" to make sure I had it either way (and to be honest I don't remember whether or not I had it installed. I think I may not have, which was odd). If I remember correctly, it was after this I tried rebuilding/installing clementine but cmake .. was hitting a snag I hadn't previously seen. I was getting an error about PROTOBUF_STATIC_LIBRARY linked by target "clementine-spotifyblob" in directory /home/user/Clementine/ext/clementine-spotifyblob and saying that it was NOTFOUND. Protobuf was installed, but to fix this I had to use ABS to get the protobuf PKGBUILD, modify it to have options=('staticlibs'), and then use makepkg to reinstall protobuf with the static library. Once protobuf was reinstalled I went and reinstalled clementine and it works, no problem.

I don't know how you'd go about half these things on a non-Arch system, but either way I hope this helps. I hope I didn't forget any intermediate steps along the way.

Confirmed the problem on Ubuntu 16.04 still persists in ver 1.3.1, please plan a fix for the release soon?
I can also confirm the trick with "unsubscribing" works. "Discover weekly" is not the only offender, also any external playlists.
