Cinnamon: [FEATURE REQUEST]: Dynamic number of workspaces option (gnome3-like)

Created on 16 Oct 2013  Â·  11Comments  Â·  Source: linuxmint/cinnamon

I've been using this desktop for 3 hours. It's almost perfect. The only thing that I miss is to have a dinamic number of workspaces, if I need one more, that the system adds it. And if I don't need it (no apps on it, and it isn't the only remaining desktop) erase that workspace.

There is a lot of people who doesn't like this option, so it could be a feature in the configuration.

That feature was removed on purpose because it doesn't make sense to us to have a dynamic number of workspaces.
It's not coming back.

This should be the decision of the user. You make everything optional, why not that one?

Dynamic workspaces is very good feature of Gnome 3. Missing it in Cinnamon.

Please bring this feature back. At least put it in as an optional configuration switched off by default. :cold_sweat:

It would be awesome to have this back. Don't be like GNOME--don't remove things just because only a few people use them. That kind of customization is what makes Cinnamon Cinnamon!

+1 Ryan.

Let the users decide what they want to enable and disable. Please bring this feature back :'(

Want it. This is the only reason I'm not using Mint.
