Cherrytree: Duplicating node doesn't copy children

Created on 24 Apr 2018  路  7Comments  路  Source: giuspen/cherrytree

I've just updated CherryTree and gone to duplicate a node, when I do so, I'm no longer copying any children and only copies the parent node with nothing ending up underneath it.

Please let me know any other further information I can provide, I can't share the document and was unsure what else would prove useful. This happens in the Windows CherryTree 0.38.4 build.

Yes you can export node and subnodes to cherrytree document and then import as many times as you like to achieve the result

The duplication of a node has never supported duplicating also the children, I plan to add this in future

That's unfortunate - I was so sure it used to also. Any timeline on this? Duplicating nodes seems a bit pointless otherwise given how little it's doing.

Without this is there a way to approach "templated" nodes/children? The intention of doing this was so I could make a template of an item with a number of children and then duplicate the templated node each time I had a new instance of an item.

Any news on this? Say we wanted to do this:

-> [Node] (as a category)
--> Template (sub-node + other sub-nodes)
---> Subnode [X]
---> Subnode [Xn] (both using the template)
-> [Node X] (duplocated from [Node] with the template only.

How do we achieve this?

@giuspen any updates? :))

Could not find a way too, so I am saving my "node template" as a file and importing it on demand. =/
