Chart.js: feature request - choose when to show an axis label, so there aren't 100 labels when you want 10

Created on 19 Dec 2017  路  7Comments  路  Source: chartjs/Chart.js

the requirement to show every single x or y axis label is causing issues. Lots of people want to show just a few of the labels, every 10 or 25. The issue is not solved, so I'm opening it up again and referring to the ticket that is closed, but not dealt with.

this is the original ticket #12

@spencer1573 are the ticks-options maxTicksLimit and autoSkip or eventually the callback: function(value, index, values) not able to generate such a result?
Edit:
Could you provide a fiddle that is demonstrating the problem?

where is the documentation on this?

I'm going to implement these tomorrow and let you know how it goes because that looks really promising. Thanks so much!

There is stepSize as well that can help.

12 is about v1.0 which is not anymore supported and as @jcopperfield suggested, v2.0 should provide many options to implement your use case.

@spencer1573 I'm going to close this as solved, but feel free to reopen if it's not
