The hackPRO usb drive has its control laptop, let's find a nifty use for the MediSoft counterpart.
I propose something along the lines of:

A more mundane variation: medical laptop = blood analysis + blood filter CBMs, but no need to graft anything and works on batteries. May have the added perk(s) of the blood filter being substance specific and/or working on viruses, poisons, radiation etc.
Add vaccutainer to the mundane version and that could happen.
IMO the end-game mutations are already balanced around difficulty of
getting the right mix, enabling getting more desired mutations and less
undesired ones upsets that.
I'm not saying the mutation part is a no-go, just that it's more likely
this would become an additional requirement rather than allowing finer
control of mutations.
More analysis on the other hand sounds great, a readout of mutations and
percentages would be cool (e.g. 5% reptile, 9%avian, etc...)
Blood analysis also sounds good, blood filter is pushing it a bit, that
would require quite an involved setup to do dialysis.
One thing I'm thinking of: folks always want to make installing CBMs easier. Hack the medilaptop into a handy Dissector in your local lab and program it to do the incisions for you!

I like it!
I like this idea. one possible idea is that having one around you is like having one around is like a skill increase. giving you +5 medi skill and making medical task you do around it safer and more beneficial.
This could also give some motivation to actually train the computer skill. That can't be a bad thing.
Conclusion from #17158:
Laptop should be a universal device expandable with optional modules like control module for hacking robots, medical lab module for blood test, etc.
Discussion's been stalled on this one for about a year now. Closing. If anyone still has an interest in this, free to let me know here that you want it reopened; or just create a new issue.
