Bspwm: API stability

Created on 31 Oct 2016  路  1Comment  路  Source: baskerville/bspwm

bspwm is currently at its 9th minor version. Has there been any thought about stabilizing its API?

Given how much it's already able to do, the project could benefit from some planning time for current and some future commands to finally consider itself stable. This would permit users to fully rely on their desktop's behavior's consistency despite updates and it would certainly mark a milestone for bspwm: version 1.0.0.

It could also be a moment for deciding what kind of features (both breaking for 2.0 and non-breaking for minor versions) would be desired for inclusion in bspwm as a sort of roadmap; something that would encourage interested contributors to start work on them.
