As a user I would like to unlock bitwarden extension with the last 3-4 chars of my master password. I would like this option to be only available for the first attempt though.
For people like myself who have very large master passwords, it is inconvenient to have to type that in each time. Keeping the database unlocked all the time is convenient but a security hazard.
This feature would probably be better implemented as a PIN unlock.

Or maybe even a 2FA code to unlock if you have two-step login enabled for your vault.
Additionally, if I may, if/when this feature is implemented a timer is implemented as well? IE, keep the vault open for a selected period of time? Keeping the vault open all the time, especially with credit card information is a security hazard for me as well.
This would be very helpful for the Firefox Android browser extension as well since currently you have to login semi-frequently or leave it permanently loggedin.
Agree with the above, as more and more Chromebooks and surface laptops blend the use case between tablets and laptops, it would be nice to have a pin unlock on the browser extension as well.
As @ple103 mentioned, 2FA support in the browser extension would be really, really nice - both U2F and OTP would be useful, and I suppose Duo and other methods as well.
This would make the user experience on Firefox for Android much more tolerable.
Need quick unlock on firefox extension too.
