Brackets: How to Live Preview on Safari

Created on 3 Jan 2018  路  5Comments  路  Source: adobe/brackets

Issue: I've been trying to live-preview on Safari instead of Chrome as I have some exercises that need to be compared after being finished with the instructor's sources. I changed the directory of the file I want to open to Safari instead of Chrome and I tried it and it opened on Safari, but when I opened up the same file on Brackets and got to live-preview it it still opened it on Chrome.

I want to live-preview the instructor 's sources on Google, and live-preview mine on Safari via Brackets. Is that possible?

_If what I asked for is not possible,_

Is there a method to just live-preview on Safari instead of Chrome?

I am using MacOs Sierra 10.12.6
I am using Brackets 1.11 build 1.11.0-17524

@Moziak You can enable experimental live preview by File -> Enable Experimental Live Preview. Now if you live preview, it will use your default browser(set it to safari) for live previewing.

Note that not all features of Live preview, working in Chrome, will work with other browsers.
Let me know if you are facing any difficulties.

I've just seen the solution. I am going to check it out now. Cheers!

Well! Thanks you @boopeshmahendran for your help.
I made a little experiment to be able to come with a good analysis.

The experiment:-
I made 2 groups of files. The first group is in a folder called 'Instructor' with Chrome to be their default browser. The second group is in a folder called 'Myself' with Safari to be their default browser.

Trying both groups on Brackets:-
On 'Instructor' group (Chrome): It can Live-preview on Chrome.
If the 'Enable Experimental Live Preview' is ticked, it can Live-preview on Safari.

On 'Myself' group (Safari): It comes with an error. In other words, you just preview the page in black and white, whether 'Enable Experimental Live Preview' is ticked or not.

Recap:-
Only files that their browse default is Chrome can live-preview on Safari if Enable Experimental Live Previewis ticked
Enable Experimental Live Preview allow the page to open on Safari whether its browse default is Google or Safari.

Now after alternating the files' default browser between Safari and Google the whole folder they don't open properly, displaying the same aforementioned issues, on both Google and Safari.

The only thing that's worked so far is files with Safari as a default browser. These files getLive Preview on Google, and can get previewed on Safari if Enable Experimental Live is ticked.

Remember: I am mentioning Safari because I only operate two browsers, Safari and Google

I tested here, and is working nice!!!
