Brackets: Brackets performing slowly even after fresh install (update 5/9)

I've had Brackets on my current work computer for about a year now with no problems. This past Monday, however, Brackets has begun moving at a snail's pace with every type of document. Its response time is extremely slow immediately after I save/open a file, sometimes taking up to a minute to respond to a keystroke/cursor movement. I have no idea what's going on, as I haven't changed anything on my end.

I've uninstalled/cleared ALL Brackets files from my computer & reinstalled several times just to encounter the same issue.

Brackets version: 1.6
OS version: Windows 7 Enterprise
Extensions: None

Any ideas? Could it be the "SecurityError"? I'm not particularly software savvy, so any explanations at a more basic level will be much appreciated. I just want Brackets back. Thanks!

I've uninstalled/reinstalled Brackets several times again, and now I'm consistently receiving this error message whenever I open one of my documents:

Brackets still runs unreasonably slow after attempting to open/switch between documents.

About ready to assume Brackets broke its leg, and I just need to accept that and put the ol' girl down.

I am having exactly the same problem... I don't have any ideas what is happening... I have using brackets (0.36 version i think).... afterwards I had used "brackets" for a long time, one day It just became in slow, when I type in there it takes seconds to show what I am typing, in general all the app is too slow. here is the "Brackets" healt report (it is happening on a win 8.1 pc):

@FLasH3r Running in admin mode unfortunately isn't changing anything for me. It's still unreasonably slow.

2018 and its not closed so I thought I'd add,

I'm running version 1.12, fresh install

Ran fine the first day, second day ended up tripping all over itself, couldn't even type a single tag without waiting.

Simply ran in admin mode, #fixed

OS: Windows 10

2020 and still an issue, though for me it only starts to slow down once I've been using it for several hours. I suspect a memory leak - I've got 32GB of RAM and slowly but surely Brackets takes all of it.

This is on a recently formatted Mac (last week) running Catalina.
