Boostnote: Use the comma key and the spacebar to define new tags

Created on 29 Jul 2017  路  5Comments  路  Source: BoostIO/Boostnote

Hello and thank you for Boostnote.

Actually when I want to add some tags to a note I have to write each tag and press the enter key to convert the text into a tag:

boostnote

IMHO it would be simpler if I could use the comma key and / or the space bar to create new tags as well

For example I could write: tag1, tag2, tag3 and this string could be automatically transformed into tag1 tag2 tag3 while I'm still writing the tags. The very same thing could happen if I write tag1 tag2 tag3 by using a space to separate each tag.

@fmaida Thanks for your suggestion! I contemplate to implement it because I agree what you say.

I feel like this feature should be discussed first. The current implementation allows for tags such as #hello world, which I could see being useful, so I wouldn't want spaces to split a tag.

As for commas I can agree that it is a very common separator and I can't think of an example tag that would benefit from containing a comma.

What are your opinions?

same note might as well be tagged with #hello #world, with I would consider better practice. I have concerns about backward compatibility for some users, though.
