Books we wish we could fit inside The Book but can't. I have thought about explicit non-goals of TRPL a few times and want to write them down :)

I hope that people come along and write these books because I wish they existed and I know I don't have the time to write them!

  • Design Patterns in Rust/Here's how you design things in Rust
  • Rust Recipes - how do you do X in Rust for a variety of X, how to solve problem Y for common Rust problems
  • Rust History/Things that aren't There Anymore: Rust Edition (bonus points if done in the style of a Rick Sebak documentary)
  • Books about specific crates
  • A comprehensive Rust Reference

  • How to implement every conceivable data structure in Rust
  • Learning Rust coming from a background of language X for a variety of X
  • More in depth/complex error handling, including examples and comparisons with using quick-error and error-chain
  • "Rust as your first programming language".

...And now I have been nerd sniped.

I'm going to give this issue a close; it seems we've enumerated a lot of books :)
