Blokada: Run as proxy, VPN, or root

As seen in #287, this would be useful for running two VPN type apps at once, provided the other supports proxy. Blokada could run as proxy to be able to work with said apps, VPN to work for everyone, or root for those lucky enough to have a rooted phone

A proxy. Really? Running a server on the phone all the time? What about the battery consumption?

Hmm. I've seen it done without much battery drain, and used it, but I can't remember where.
The thing is, don't run a server. Just open a listener on a specific port, and the other app will then route requests through Blokada. Is that possible, or am I just a moron?

Look at Proxy Server by Ice Cold Apps,thank me later. Good for tethering
bypasses as well

Just to clarify: what's the main goal of this request?

Running as proxy would allow another VPN to work(if supported), and I'm not sure on current root functionality. I know one of the big complaints is you can't run 2 VPN at once,due to Android restrictions. I know Orbot can run as proxy, and Netgaurd can connect to a proxy,and vice versa
Either Blokada support for connection to a localhost or external proxy, or it to act as a pseudo proxy is the goal.

If Blokada supports OpenVPN (or use it as a VPN base), or if Blokada is able to be a (simple & small) proxy, it would be the app of my choise and I would buy it, too.
My prob: Be by NorthVPN, have already paid for years, want stay, but want hostfile and own config of DNS, too.
Hostfile would be possible for me (with rooted device) to use AdAway, but setting up the same time OpenNIC gets difficult... and will get more, if NorthVPN supports IPv6... by now I block IPv6 - just to go save - by AFWall+...
