For use with cheap, cardboard-type VR headsets- which use the phone as their displays.
The basic version would be to just render the terminal in two identical panes side by side. This would instantly allow hammock terminals.
A stretch goal could be to allow camera pass through, so users could navigate the world while in a VR terminal. I suspect this may clash with some of your performance values though.
If that wasn鈥檛 offensive to you, then a second stretch goal would be to use iOS augmented reality kit to give the terminal a real position in the user鈥檚 3D space. Not sure how the user would control its position.

That鈥檚 awesome, and demonstrates you鈥檝e already played with what I鈥檇 thought would be the hardest part of this idea!
I think there is a pretty big difference though, between the utility of AR in the handset vs a headset, so I really look forward to the next such experiment!
If I could just have a QR code where I鈥檇 like my terminal to appear, that would be very ideal...
