Black: Black stuck on bad cache(?)

After running black from Python3.8 virtualenv, I am unable to run black from Python3.7 virtualenv on the same codebase, even on completely new files:

> black x.py
error: cannot format x.py: unsupported pickle protocol: 5

provide some basics for me:

Operating system: macOS
Python version: 3.8b + 3.7
Black version: 19.3b0
Does also happen on master: dunno

TL;DR, on Mac, do rm -rf ~/Library/Caches/black/*
