Betterttv: BetterTTV not working

i had BTTV for a long time and everything was good untill today i stopped seeing emotes and everything (default twitch) even tho BTTV is installed and i can even see the emotes in emote menu. Tryed reinstalling and reloading the page, doesnt work. Still cant see any emotes even tho it says its installed and emotes are enabled

This is a general problem with BTTV chat because twitch changed some stuff this afternoon that is causing BTTV to not initialize properly any more.

The following commentary is what little I've been able to debug of it, hopefully jump start things for night to investigate.

Console debug log shows "Waited for chat load: 10000ms" (or some vaguely 10000 ms approximation thereof, so watcher.js:waitForLoad('chat') is failing.
Debugging watcher.js:loadPredicates[chat] shows that twitch.updateCurrentChannel is failing, and breakpointing that shows it is failing because getCurrentChat is failing.
getCurrentChat is failing because $(CHAT_CONTAINER)[0] is undefined, indeed because there is no class .chat-room__container anywhere. I am not able to find anything that vaguely looks uniquely identifying to replace this, so that's where I hit a dead end.
Update: Replacing the selector with div[data-test-selector="chat-room-component-layout"] makes getCurrentChat return something that looks vaguely like a chat controller object, it is an object, it has props, and it has a channelID prop... that is undefined, so the third test at utils/twitch.js:132 fails and updateCurrentChannel still craps out and returns undefined.

So today my BetterTTV stopped working aswell. Split lines in chat doesn't show up and emotes show as plain text. FFZ emotes work fine and I could bring up the BTTV settings and emote menu. Even if I selected an emote and sent to chat it was still plain text. I disable every addon in the browser except BTTV, I've updated and cleaned Chrome but still the same problem (funnily enough, dark theme activates if I enable BTTV alone but nothing else).

Yes, we've been looking at the issue, but we haven't come up with a solution just yet. It's not an easy thing to fix, unfortunately. Night will hopefully have a chance to take a look at it later when he has some time. Until then, we'll just have to wait. Once it's fixed, a new version will be released, and your browser will update to that automatically. You don't need to do anything else.

hey, i have the lattest update (both chrome and FF), and all of BTTV (excepting the inverted logo) are now missing from twitch. no BTTV settings, no dark theme, no split lines, nada. the issue hasn't been fixed, it's been exasperated.

Same here, as of today all BTTV features stopped working on Chrome across my multiple machines. I have uninstalled/reinstalled the extension and still no joy.

This issue relates to a completely different problem several weeks ago, and therefore is closed. The issue for the current breakage is #2982.
