Had a similar problem with Windows/Thinfinity and was able to fix the
problem by disabling Use relative mouse moves from the Advance Server
Settings options tab. See if that works for you too.—

I believe the issue might be Wayland. I have the same issue on manjaro. Solution is to use x.org. Does PureOS use Wayland by default? Barrier really needs to add Wayland support. It's the only app I use anymore that doesn't play nice with Wayland.
Possibly Wayland. We can't add Wayland support just yet -- higher priorities such as the memory leaks.. but its on the roadmap! Apologies.

Also, please use the template. We have that for a reason. What version are you using, what version of PureOS, and Windows?
windows 10
Pureos 9

Which version of Windows 10? i.e, build number. You can find that
out by running winver.
Please use the template in future, however. I still require further
information...

Kind regards,
Dom Rodriguez (shymega)
I can confirm that at least that Wayland is the problem. Switched from it to Xorg and barrier started working again (Both keyboard and mouse previously not working).
Though when on Wayland barrier would still detect the cursor moving system's and would bring the (moved to) systems windows in focus.
Barrier doesn't support Wayland, so that would be expected behaviour.
