Azure-pipelines-tasks: Download Secure File task: Can not set secure file by File Name by using GUI on Release pipeline

Created on 30 Oct 2019  路  11Comments  路  Source: microsoft/azure-pipelines-tasks

Required Information

Even if set a secure file name by UI, it is converted to GUID and registered. Should be configurable by GUID or file name.
Documentation: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/devops/pipelines/tasks/utility/download-secure-file?view=azure-devops#yaml-snippet

If the GUID is set, updating the secure file will change its GUID, so all release pipeline settings must be changed by manually.

Please can this be addressed! It's such a massive pain to have to go through EVERY PIPELINE that uses a file to update it when a new version of the file is uploaded!

Hi everyone, could usage of security file name be an option to resolve issue in this case? Are there any concerns about not using it?
