I'm used azure pipelines with hosted agents.
The UsePythonVersion almost always fail. Sometimes it passes but the most common is:

It looks like the hosted mac image doesn't have? Odd that it's intermittent

The docs and Mac agent properties say that it has 2.7, 3.6.5 and other versions:
macOS toolcache Python 2.7.15 3.4.8 3.5.5 3.6.5 3.7.0

It appears there are some macOS agents in the hosted pool that don't have Python installed. Let me follow up with the team that manages that pool.
Apparently now is working.
Turns out the WEU region had some VMs that had not been updated. This should be fixed as of yesterday. Please reactivate if you continue to see the issue.
