@juanjojulian @dhirschfeld Can you please try executing the below az command before trying "az monitor log-analytics solution" command ?
az extension add --name log-analytics-solution
When you execute above command, you will be prompted with below warning which is expected.

User error; though highlighting the required extension more prominently in the docs would probably help avoid that since I'm apparently not the only one who has tripped over this!
