This page lists Windows and Linux VMs and VMSSs to be available in Australia East - does that mean this feature is impending? I don't see the capability in the Azure portal yet but waiting eagerly.

@sayanghosh123 Thanks for the question! We are investigating and will update you shortly.
@mimckitt
Currently the zones listed at the bottom of the page are in preview so if you wanted to try them out you can request that your subscription be whitelisted. However they are not officially GA yet hence they are not available to the general public. I don't have an ETA I am able to share with expected time frames for regions to move from Preview to GA. Every region is different and every Preview requires all steps to be completed prior to the GA signoff.

Hi @mimckitt - Many thanks for this response. Can you please advise the whitelisting request process for this preview? We will certainly be keen to test this out in our test subscriptions as we have MANY customers who are (eagerly) waiting for this.
No problem. From what I understand you can open a support request and they can get it sorted out. However that said, I am not 100% sure on that.... So let me see if I can find out for sure and get back to you on that.
Thanks. While you do that, we will log a support case and see if we can get any luck with that, if so I will report back as well.
I was able to confirm that opening up a support request is the way to go. These zones are not in preview but the engineering team manages peoples access directly. Hence the support request is the best way to obtain access or if you have a Technical Account Manager, reaching out to them would work as well.
I am going to modify the doc to make that more clear.
