Azure-docs: HDI Version'3.6' is not supported for clusterType 'MLSERVICES' and componentVersion 'default'?

Created on 12 Jul 2020  Â·  8Comments  Â·  Source: MicrosoftDocs/azure-docs

Is ML Service still supported? Deprecation note says "The ML Services cluster type on HDInsight is supported only on HDInsight 3.6. HDInsight 3.6 is scheduled to retire on December 31, 2020.", however all attempts to create cluster of that time fail with following error:

{"code":"DeploymentFailed","message":"At least one resource deployment operation failed. Please list deployment operations for details. Please see https://aka.ms/DeployOperations for usage details.","details":[{"code":"BadRequest","message":"{\r\n \"code\": \"BadRequest\",\r\n \"message\": \"HDI Version'3.6' is not supported for clusterType 'MLSERVICES' and componentVersion 'default'.\"\r\n}"}]}

@kosinsky I'm able to created HDInsight ML Services without any issue.

Note: I have got the same error message ""HDI Version'3.6' is not supported for clusterType 'MLSERVICES'" for first time and I have recreated it again helped to delopy successfully.

Could you please re-try to create the HDInsight ML Services. In case, if you see the same error message, I would request you to re-try after 5 mins.

I ran MLService creation 10 times only 1 succeeded. 10% success rate isn't very good for still supported scenario.

@kosinsky I’m working with the product team to fix this issue.

@CHEEKATLAPRADEEP-MSFT Looks like a fix to the error experience was made. Are you ready to resolve this one?

@JasonWHowell do you mean https://github.com/terraform-providers/terraform-provider-azurerm/pull/7706? It isn't fix for that error. Error still happens, PR is for other types of clusters.

Oh, no one explained what the links were for. That's fine, proceed as you were.

@kosinsky We will now proceed to close this thread. If there are further questions regarding this matter, please comment and we will gladly continue the discussion.
