Azure-docs: Great idea - can't get it to work, and error messages are unhelpful.

Repeated attempts all fail with the helpful "Failed to create App Service Managed Certificate for hostname <snip> Error Details: The gateway did not receive a response from 'Microsoft.Web' within the specified time period."

Failure messages could certainly be more helpful ;-)

To clarify: The free managed service cert creation fails.
(Other cert options work, obviously.)

I was experiencing the same until I noticed the "naked domains are not supported".

That's "something.com" though, isn't it? I'm using this.something.com... that should work.

(Or does it only support www. ?)

The original issue reported above, managed certificates failed to create:
"Failed to create App Service Managed Certificate for hostname Error Details: The gateway did not receive a response from 'Microsoft.Web' within the specified time period."

This issue has been resolved. Please give it a try again and the creates should go through.

Regarding "naked domains are not supported": Thanks for the feedback. Adding APEX domain support is on our list of features we need to support for Managed certificates.
