Azure-docs: No template for 3.x web job in visual studio 2017

Created on 21 Aug 2019  Â·  3Comments  Â·  Source: MicrosoftDocs/azure-docs

When I create a webjob why there is still no template for 3.x webjob sdk in Visual Studio 2017 15.9.14? Does Visual Studio 2019 offer this feature. It seems very retrograde to be using 2.x webjobs now and I struggle to find a really good up to date example for configuration - I'm trying to use webjob sdk 3.0.11

@idbates sorry for your difficulties in using version 3.x of the WebJobs SDK. I believe that the Visual Studio folks have chosen to focus their tooling efforts more toward Azure Functions rather than WebJobs. We have updated the getting started article to focus on .NET Core and WebJobs SDK 3.x, since there's no 3.x template. If you find other things to be out-of-date, please continue to let us know so that we can fix them. #please-close
