Azure-docs: This feature is deprecated

Created on 25 Jul 2019  Â·  4Comments  Â·  Source: MicrosoftDocs/azure-docs

I did a significant amount of setup to try and use this feature just to find out it's been deprecated: https://devblogs.microsoft.com/devops/cloud-based-load-testing-service-eol/

Please update this page to reflect that so no one else wastes their time.

@Remimstr I am adding the following section to a Note at the top of the doc. Will this address your concerns:

Multi-step web tests depend on Visual Studio webtest files. It was announced that Visual Studio 2019 will be the last version with webtest functionality. It is important to understand that while no new features will be added, webtest functionality in Visual Studio 2019 is still currently supported and will continue to be supported during the support lifecycle of the product. The Azure Monitor team has addressed questions regarding the future of multi-step availability tests here.

adding @morgangrobin for awareness.

@mrbullwinkle Thank you for adding that note, this definitely addresses my concerns. It also helps me understand that I can still use multi-step web tests if I so choose for the time being.

@Remimstr thank you for taking the time to reach out and help us to improve our docs! The changes are now merged internally they should go live in the next hour.

@Remimstr Thank you again for bringing this to our attention! We are going to close this thread as resolved but if there are any further questions regarding the documentation, please tag me in your reply and we will be happy to continue the conversation.
