I’d like to get a better understanding about Prometheus scraping settings. It seems AKS have not supported kube-state-metrics yet.
https://github.com/Azure/AKS/issues/990
So, do I have to install kube-state-metrics by myself to AKS at this time to use Prometheus scraping?

@ToruMakabe Thank you for your feedback . We will investigate and update this thread further.
@MGoedtel Are there any plans to support Kube-state-metrics? If yes, could you please share the timelines?
I have no information about supporting kube-state-metrics at this time. Let me check with the PG and have them respond to this query. In the future, please direct questions like this to User Voice - https://feedback.azure.com/forums/913690-azure-monitor. Thanks!
I've reached back to the PG and brought this back up to their attention.
@MGoedtel Thank you for checking with PG. In my understanding, AKS does not officially support kube-state-metrics at this time. So, could you consider to remove the words "kube-state-metrics" from this doc? It makes me confused a bit.
@ToruMakabe - I've reached out to our engineering team to verify and I've bugged this article. If kube-state-metrics aren't supported I'll remove it. #in-progress
@ToruMakabe - the doc should have said 'as examples' you can collect kube-state-metrics. If you want to collect kube-state-metric, you would put kube-state in your cluster and configure the agent to scrape those metrics. We will update the doc to make it clear.
@MGoedtel @vishiy Understood. After making the doc clear, please close this issue. Thanks!
This fix has been included as part of a set of changes and new content being released for the Ignite conference and goes live the week of 11/4. #please close.
