Azure-docs: Confusion with Central India region

Created on 13 Jun 2019  Â·  9Comments  Â·  Source: MicrosoftDocs/azure-docs

Azure search services are only supported in Central India region amongst all the India regions. According to this document creation of new services has been blocked in central India region for now. Has it been unblocked? It has been reported that creation in Central India is possible. In that case user is subscribed to Microsoft Azure Enterprise subscription.

@JayaC19, Thanks for the question! We are taking a look into this and will get back to you soon.

@JayaC19 I don't see Central India as an available region in the portal. Are you sure someone was able to provision a new service there? Existing services already created in that region are not impacted (full SLA, full scale) but new services can't be created at this time.

@JayaC19, Out of the 3 regions in India (Central India, South India and West India) location, Azure Search is generally available only in Central India as you can notice from the ‘Products by region” page (screenshot1). However, as Heidi mentioned,” The restriction on Central region is temporary and we will remove this note when it longer applies”. (screenshot2 -No Central India as of now) So, new services can't be created in this region at this time. Based on your requirement you may consider selecting a nearby region for provisioning the resource.

Edited: More clarity

Where do you see "Central India" ??

Just added the screenshot to support the verbatim that currently Central India is not available for Azure Search deployment.

Ok -- your comment said the opposite -- "Out of the 3 regions in India (Central India, South India and West India) location, Azure Search is generally available only in Central India as you can notice from the ‘Products by region” page (screenshot1).

@JayaC19 -- is there anything more you need to see WRT this issue?? If not, I think we should close it. Thanks!

@JayaC19, We will now proceed to close this thread. If there are further questions regarding this matter, please tag us in your reply. We will gladly continue the discussion.
