Azure-docs: Is a Windows Virtual Desktop required for Remote App?

Created on 22 Mar 2019  Â·  6Comments  Â·  Source: MicrosoftDocs/azure-docs

Hello,

I'm curious if in order to publish a remoteapp, must a WVD exist first? Can I create the default app group, which according to the documentation also publishes the full desktop, and then simply publish my remote app and delete the desktop?

@jasonkatz424 Thank you for your feedback . We will investigate and update further.

@Heidilohr Could you please look into this thread ?

@jasonkatz424 There isn't a default app group for RemoteApps only. If the apps are published before the Windows Virtual Desktop is created, then the app group's feed icon won't work.

Thank you. And in order to publish apps, is it required that you first deploy the server image (versus the Windows 10 image). I sincerely appreciate the help.
