Thanks for the feedback! We are currently investigating and will update you shortly.

@jeffmartinxyz - it looks from the error message, like helm is not looking locally to install the helm chart.

Ensure that you have downloaded the Istio release

And are running the helm install command from the top-level folder of the Istio release that you downloaded and extracted.

There is a note in the Install the Istio client binary section of the docs that mentions this. I'm wondering if it is worth repeating this note in the Install the Istio Kubernetes components to ensure that people don't miss it.

Let us know if this resolves this issue and if you think it is worth repeating the note.

Yup, I was just doing it wrong. Thanks for following up. I think it would be good to mention this step, though most would be familiar with this. Unfortunately I don’t use helm that often and wasn’t aware.

why is this the answer, shouldn't this product be added to the kubernetes charts api like every other majorly used chart/product?
