Is there anywhere that lists the type of operation event that can be output. its hard to write LogAnalytic search queries if i dont know what the events are available

The article gives you the list of logs we output, including the schema. That is not sufficient? could you give us more examples or specs on what you are looking for?

But the article doesn't provide information on what the content of these messages can be. As example, the article explains that the Operational Log message has a 'Status' property, but what status can be generated? What EventProperties will be available?

Its difficult to write Log Analytic queries if i dont know what data will be available.

As @mikeclearbank says, a useful schema would contain all the values that can appear, not just field names. The examples are probably a sufficient workaround for getting things like the timestamp formats or whatever, but the EventName, EventProperties and Status fields for Operational logs aren't clearly defined. message field in the Archive logs could use some more explanation too.
