Does this work for existing clusters as well? Does it need version 1.12.4? Do we need to add/enable an extra addon?

Thanks for the question! We are investigating and will update you shortly.

Network policy can currently only be enabled when the cluster is created, as per the instructions in the article. There's no add-on to enable, though you need to register your subscription to use the feature. These are covered in the opening section of the article - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/aks/use-network-policies#create-an-aks-cluster-and-enable-network-policy

There's no specific requirement on 1.12.x, though you would need to use a supported Kubernetes version.

Will it, in the future, also be possible to enable calico for existing aks cluster? at this point it is only available for new aks clusters.
